They'll open, be vibrant for half a day and fade to pinky/white over two days. BUT they do survive on wholesale neglect next to the helebores.
To add to my finger injury on Thursday, acute back pain since yesterday, today I closed the car boot onto my head. A kind lady who was passing was most concerned and caring, as she heard the crunch. The car was unharmed.
